Started originally in Adams Morgan, this family-owned restaurant opened its Arlington location in 2008, featuring dishes from Egypt, Greece and the Middle East. The restaurant can hold up to 60 customers indoor and outdoors on their cozy lit patio set in a quiet neighborhood (pictured below). Locals are frequently found ordering takeout from Astor due to the extremely quick turnaround when placing an order.
Astor's most popular dish is their mixed kabob which is a full skewer of beef, chicken, lamb and kufta (ground sirloin and lamb seasoned with onion, parsley, cumin, coriander and cilantro). The kabob dish comes with a side of flavorful salad or warm, hearty rice pilaf. Our favorite dish is the Mediterranean Chicken sandwich which is comprised of marinated chicken with tasty tzatsiki sauce, feta cheese, tomato, cucumber, red onion and cilantro served in a warm, soft pita. It never disappoints!
The best part about Astor is not only their quality food and extremely fast customer service, but their reasonable prices that allow for an affordable and delicious meal.
